Organizing Media
Section titled “Organizing Media”Categorizing and Tagging
Section titled “Categorizing and Tagging”To keep the media library organized, use tags (we’ll cover this under “Media Browser”):
- Tags: Add specific keywords to make media files easier to find.
Naming Conventions
Section titled “Naming Conventions”Use clear and descriptive names for your media files. This helps in identifying and searching for files later. For example, use “team_meeting_2023.jpg” instead of “IMG_1234.jpg”.
Using Media in Content
Section titled “Using Media in Content”Inserting Media
Section titled “Inserting Media”- In the content editor, click on the Add Media button.
- Upload or select the desired media file from the Media Browser.
- Insert the media into your content.
Recommended Sizes and Quality
Section titled “Recommended Sizes and Quality”Each content type will have a description specifying the recommended image size and file quality. Ensure you adhere to these guidelines to maintain consistency and performance across the site.
Editing and Updating Media
Section titled “Editing and Updating Media”Basic Editing
Section titled “Basic Editing”Sanity Studio provides basic editing functionalities, such as cropping images:
- Open the media file in the Media Browser.
- Use the available editing tools to make adjustments.
- Save your changes. (If there are no save buttons, exiting the window will save the changes)
Updating Existing Media
Section titled “Updating Existing Media”To update an existing media file:
- Open the media file in the Media Browser.
- Click on the Replace button.
- Upload or select the new version of the file.
Deleting Media
Section titled “Deleting Media”Safe Deletion
Section titled “Safe Deletion”To delete a media file:
- Before deleting a media file, ensure it is not being used in any live content to avoid broken links or missing images.
- Open the media file in the Media Browser.
- Click on the Delete button.
- Confirm the deletion.
Media Library Overview

Section titled “Navigating the Library”The Media Browser provides an organized view of all your media files. Use the navigation panel to browse through categories and tags.
Searching and Filtering
Section titled “Searching and Filtering”Use the search bar to find specific media files. You can also apply filters based on file type, tags, or upload date to narrow down your search.
Optimizing Media

Section titled “Image Optimization”- Image size: Follow the guidelines provided with each media entry
- File size: Ensure file sizes aren’t above 500-600kb.
Quality Considerations
Section titled “Quality Considerations”Encourage users to upload high-quality images that meet the recommended size and file quality guidelines provided in the content descriptions. This helps maintain the visual and performance standards of our website.
Using the Media Browser
Section titled “Using the Media Browser”Accessing the Media Browser
Section titled “Accessing the Media Browser”To manage media files, navigate to the Media Browser plugin within Sanity Studio. This plugin allows you to upload, organize, and edit your media files efficiently.
Uploading Media
Section titled “Uploading Media”- Open the Media Browser.
- Click on the Upload button.
- Select the media files you wish to upload from your computer.
- Ensure that the file types and sizes are supported.
Supported File Types
Section titled “Supported File Types”- Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF
- Videos: MP4, WebM
- Documents: PDF, DOCX
